Liuli is a unique form of crystal glass artwork, consistng of multi-hued combinations of exceptional colours.  Each piece of fine art is created by hand, through an assiduous ancient Chinese casting technique.  Liuli is simply coloured crystal that is 24%PBO.

The Circle of Life
The history of Liuli dates back more than 2100 years.  Archaeological discovery has uncovered that the ancient Chinese had mastered the wax casting technique as early as the Han Dynasty during 206-220BC.  The longest existing Chinese artefacts are in the form of Liuli, also known as the 'lost wax casting' (Pâte de verre).  Renowned explorer, Marco Polo, learnt of the magnificence of Liuli in his travels to China, and there began the first introduction of Liuli to Europe.

From the history of the Western Chow to the Ming dynasty, archaeologists in China have found each dynasty represented by Liuli artefacts, ranging in forms of jewellery and ornaments, to dinnerware.  The use of Liuli artwork was strictly a privilege of the imperial family and was reputed as the leader in the 4 most valued properties of gold, silver, jade and bronze.  These archaic royal items have inspired and provided a resource for our company to create the contemporary Liuli of today, reviving he 'lost wax casting' (Pâte de verre) technique.

All Liuli products are guaranteed and given a full global warranty covering manufacturing and material defects under normal use for a period of two years, beginning at the date of purchase.  The warranty however, does not cover damage caused by accidents or maltreatment.  As Patience Brand Liuli pieces are handmade, there will always be differences between pieces.  Each coloured crystal is unique.
